How Often Should You Detail Your Car?

Our recommended detailing cadence to keep paint, leather and trim looking new.

How Often Should You Detail Your Car?

Our recommended cadence

For a daily-driven vehicle in the Conejo Valley, we recommend a maintenance wash every 1–2 weeks, an interior deep-clean every 2–3 months, and a full exterior decontamination plus paint correction once or twice a year.

Garage-kept weekend vehicles can stretch those intervals, but UV exposure and cabin contamination still happen even when the car is parked.

Signs you're overdue

Water no longer beads on the paint. The clear coat feels rough or gritty when you slide a finger across it. The interior smells stale or has visible film on the screens, dash and steering wheel. Headlights look hazy. Any of these means it's time to book a detail.

Why professional detailing matters

A professional detail uses pH-balanced soaps, multi-bucket wash methods, clay decontamination, machine polishing and surface-specific protectants. DIY washes — especially automated tunnels — install thousands of micro-scratches that we then have to polish out later.
